Concepciones de "violencia" y "paz" y educación para la Paz

| La comunicación inicia con la descripción sucinta de una investigación sobre las concepciones de la guerra y la paz que tienen estudiantes de Escuela Secundaria en México. Allí revisa los conceptos y métodos que proponen los especialistas del campo. La indagación evidencia la problemática que acarrea para la enseñanza, trabajar con una «definición negativa de paz», ya que resulta una conceptualización abstracta y poco precisa para los estudiantes. También conciben que las causas de la violencia y paz son de carácter actitudinal e interpersonal; es decir, no tienden a concebir los procesos socio-políticos y las causas eficientes de la guerra. La comunicación revisa las propuestas de Piaget, quien afirma que los estudiantes se pueden interesar en los otros, por interés en uno mismo y sugiere no considerar la cooperación y relaciones entre los pueblos de manera etérea y desinteresada, sino por ‘Reciprocidad’. Se revisan las propuestas de educación para la paz de Lederach, que también aporta indicaciones para resolver los problemas específicos que encontramos en nuestro estudio empírico; sugiere que hay que abandonar la concepción de paz en sentido negativo y asumir una con contenidos positivos que enfaticen que la paz es una situación de reducida violencia y alto nivel de justicia. |
The text begins with a short description of a research about the conceptions of the war and peace that students of Secondary School in México have. It examines the concepts and methods that specialists of this area propose too. The investigation points that there are troubles in teaching when we work with a «negative definition of peace», it result an abstract and lack of precision conceptualization for students. The students also understand that the origin of the violence and peace has an interpersonal and attitudinal quality, it means, they don´t tend to understand the socio-political process and the efficient causes of the war. This text studies Piaget´s proposals, who says that students can be interested on the Other, attending to their own interests, and he also suggests the need of giving importance to the ‘Reciprocation’, that´s why we don´t have to considered the cooperation and relations between people in an ethereal and disinterested way. The work analyses Lederach´s proposals of education for peace, that also give us indications for solving the specific troubles that we find in our empirical study; he suggests we have to leave the negative definition of peace and assume another one with positive contents that emphasize that peace is a situation of reduced violence and high level of justice. |
