Current ideas about mathematics assessment are triying to find a new and critical view in this subject. Pupils' understanding, concept of representation and the processes to carry on some kind of understanding are, all of them, critical facts to value scholars' mathematical knowledge. In this paper we introduce and explain two mathematical tasks for 12-14 years old children; we organize, classify and also analyze several factors found on the different answers obtained. In this way, we look for criteria to value pupils' understanding about sequences, its general law and its representation. |
