Las colonias escolares: una institución pedagógica de higiene preventiva en beneficio de los niños débiles de las escuelas primarias

This simple contribution is just a part of an investigation that we are making on school camps as pedagogical institutions of preventive hygiene in favour of the poorets children. With such a contribution, we pretend to emphasize both axes: hygiene and pedagogy, which are the foundation of the European Camp movement, born in Switzerland in 1876. We are also going to show up, on the on hand, the contribution of the Hygienist Movement to the creation of school camps, as a useful means of solving the dreadful problem of helpless children and the ones abandoned by society and, onthe oder hand, the combined effort made by Medicine and Pedagogy, in order to soften all this misfortune. Taking these children to the country, the mountains or the seaside has been very often a way to save their lives. |
