During the first third part of twentieth century, we assist in Spain to an important movement of educative renovation that, in this article, is commented from the perspective of the education before school. The education of the child at the nursery school recieves in our country a great impulse during this age, through the importing and learning of pedagogic ideas and methods that were used in other countries. The educative bases of activity contact with the nature, etc. were known and expanded by two main ways: the Renew Movement at Cataluña, specially at Barcelona; and the work made by some of the pupils with a scholarship of the Council to Extend the Studies. With this help, the new methods made to the education at the nursery school by Froebel and Montessori were known by the spanish teachers, and it resulted a great benefit for children that were starting school in those years. |
